Hello, my name is Halima and I have been teaching English for almost ten years. I started as a volunteer tutor for a local non-profit organization. My passion for working with people from all over the world grew, so I had no choice but to give up my career as an aspiring accountant. At this time, I started working for the Orange County Public Library, Literacy department as the English Program Coordinator. It wasn't too long before I missed teaching and tutoring, so I decided to become a full time English teacher. On a whim, I applied for the CambridgeUniversity's extension CELTA program and was accepted. As a result, I moved to Spain and trained intensively to be an English as a Foreign Language Instructor. After my training, I returned back to the states and began working within a week.
Since my decision of becoming a full time English instructor, I have had the best time. I love my job and I leave work everyday with a smile on my face. I love meeting interesting people from all over the world who have given up everything to study in America. I am very lucky to be surrounded by such brave and amazing individuals. Every day I learn a little more about the world, people, and myself. It has been the most exhilarating experience ever.
