The International Academy of English (IAE) provides eight levels of instruction, from Beginner to Advanced. Our mission is to provide international students with English language instruction of the highest quality. Our approach gives students the opportunity to improve their reading, writing, grammar, conversation, and pronunciation.  Students can also take courses to prepare for the TOEFL and TOEIC exams, and can study electives such as Business English. IAE’s stimulating and productive learning environment is well suited for preparing students for success in their future personal, academic, and professional pursuits. 

We offer open enrollment throughout the year. Students may begin class on any Monday. We offer classes with emphasis on personal attention, which guarantee our students the maximum learning opportunity and more attention from your instructor. Schedules are custom designed for each student, and take into account the student’s preferred time to attend class, as well as his/her English level. Successful completion of the advanced levels (7 or 8) of IAE’s Intensive English Program waives the TOEFL score requirement for admission to a degree program at Southern States University.

Students will receive an IAE Certificate of Attendance, or a Certificate of Completion, as well as ongoing progress reports describing their abilities in each skill area. The diversity in the student population at IAE affords our students the opportunity to practice English continually, as students befriend other students from all parts of the world. Instruction is given exclusively in English, with an emphasis on conversation and discussion and a de-emphasis on translation. Discussion of American culture is integrated within all courses throughout the curriculum. Topic classes vary each quarter, but are always interesting and cover such topics as Idioms, Business English, Current Events, Vocabulary, and Conversation.

All campuses are also equipped with computer centers that have the latest in interactive multimedia software to enhance individual language learning.

LOCATION: IAE campuses are located in several exciting cities in the southwest, including San Diego, La Jolla and Las Vegas. Our schools are in growing business areas, allowing students access to numerous American corporations for visitation and internship opportunities. 

SESSION DATES: English courses begin every Monday.
